OBJECTIVE
Our intent was to make the most beautiful house in the world. Once again, we have made light the protagonist of our space. In this case a golden light. For this we, have painted the wall where the light is cast from above, of golden color. Thus, the whole house has a special aura. That's why we call it DOMUS AUREA. The mechanism is inspired in LuÃs Barragán and the painter Mathias Goeritz. Barragán is the modern mexican architect par excellence. He was awarded with the Pritzker in 1980. The aim was to make a house where people live happily.
CONTEXT
Our house is surrounded by other ‘’Casas del Sorteo’’ houses. The TEC (Tecnológico de Monterrey) is a private university that every year builds several houses to be raffled. The lottery is very successful, and the money collected is destined to scholarships for students with lower resources.
PERFORMANCE
The result was excellent. The tickets for the lottery were sold sooner than any other previous edition. It seems that people liked it a lot. The house is very spacious, and its distribution is very logical. It is a very luminous house and the decision to place the pool on the roof was right. The views from the rooftop to the '' Sierra Madre '' are very beautiful.
