THE MCHAP LECTURE
Jacques Herzog is co-founder of Herzog & de Meuron the architecture firm behind 1111 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, a mixed-use parking structure which won the inaugural Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP). Jacques Herzog will deliver the inaugural Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize Lecture at 6 p.m. in S. R. Crown Hall, the home of IIT College of Architecture. The MCHAP Lecture is a key event in the inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial calendar.

LOUIS VUITTON SPARK AWARD INSTALLATION
The winner of the 2015 Louis Vuitton Spark Award will be celebrated with an installation based upon his winning project in the Louis Vuitton Michigan Avenue store.
The Louis Vuitton Spark Award, presented by Louis Vuitton and the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, honors an outstanding student from the IIT College of Architecture’s undergraduate and graduate Cloud Studio program reflecting the College’s focus on the City of Chicago and “Rethinking Metropolis.”
Ricardo Fernandez received the 2015 Louis Vuitton Spark Award for his project, "Setting the Stage: The Weft," a proposal to create an east-west connection with a series of public spaces, within the Bronzeville neighborhood in of Chicago. Working with a local high school and Goodman Theatre, this project explores new settings for learning that integrate art into the public realm, where creative collaboration can occur.

LAKEFRONT KIOSK
The Chilean architecture studio Pezo von Ellrichshausen, whose founders are IIT Architecture faculty and whose Poli House received the 2014 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize for Emerging Architecture, has been commissioned to design a lakefront kiosk as part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
The kiosk, built in collaboration with IIT Architecture along with others designed and built by The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and The School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will be installed on the lakefront. The Pezo von Ellrichshausen kiosk will be located on North Avenue Beach.

MLA EXHIBITION
The exhibition, "Dialogues on Urbanization: Emerging Landscapes," examines landscape architecture in the age of planetary urbanization. The exhibition takes stock of recent disciplinary developments in research methods, design strategies, and representational modes in landscape architecture and urbanism through pairing eleven speculative and eleven built projects. The exhibition is open for viewing in S. R. Crown Hall, the home of IIT College of Architecture, from November 2 through November 9.

MIES VAN DER ROHE SOCIETY EVENT: SANTIAGO BORJA AT CARR CHAPEL
Coinciding with the opening of the Chicago Architecture Biennial, Mexico City-based artist Santiago Borja will present a site-specific work that responds to the architecture of Mies van der Rohe's Carr Chapel, the architect's only religious structure. Borja’s work engages art, architecture, and anthropology, and he has realized performances and installations at a number of historically and architecturally significant sites around the world, including the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona, Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye, and Richard Neutra's VDL House.
